How we see children

We see children as capable from the start. Each one arrives with talents and strengths that are already their own, and our work is to help them discover those and grow into confident learners. That idea shapes everything here, from the curriculum to the way teachers speak with a child. It has guided Bright Horizons for more than 30 years.

In the rooms, teachers plan the curriculum and then follow the children through it. Materials sit within reach so a child can choose and return to what interests them. Teachers join small groups at eye level, ask a question and wait for the answer, and let a child's idea set the next step of the activity.

The curriculum here was designed by experts and is delivered by educators. Families can read the day's activities and messages through the Family Information Center. For specifics about a classroom, or for anything you need to know about this center, ask the director during your visit.

What you notice in practice

Teachers work at the child's level, kneeling or sitting so faces are together. They follow what a child is already doing rather than redirecting it, and they keep groups small so each child gets a turn. A teacher might sit with two children at a puzzle and say little, letting them solve it.

Rooms are arranged in clear areas for different kinds of play, with materials a child can reach and put back. The day moves between active stretches and quiet ones, with meals and rest in the same order each time. That rhythm lets children know what comes next without being told.

How we work with families

Families get the day-to-day details of their child's activities and communications through the Family Information Center. That is where notes, updates and messages live, so you can check in without waiting for pickup. Anything you want to talk through in person, the teachers and director at the center can answer.

Starting care is a change for the whole family, and the center handles it with you, not around you. Staff will walk you through how a first week works and what your child needs. If you have questions about settling in, ask the director when you visit or call.
